Religious Education
This short - course GCSE is compulsory for all students.
SYLLABUS: GCSE Religious Study (1478/9) EDEXCEL Foundation London Examinations.
KEY FEATURES: This is a combined Religious Education/ Religious Studies which incorporates the issues based approach of Religious Education with key elements of Religious Studies.
Social Harmony
Unit H - Religion and Society based on the study of Christianity and at least one other religion. We study Islam and Hinduism.
Topics covered:
- Religion and social responsibility.
- Religion and Environment.
- Religion and Science.
Topics studied will take into account the beliefs of religious as well as non - religious responses to religious and moral issues.
ASSESSMENT PROCEDURE: Your assessment is in the form of a written examination (1* 1 and 1/2 hours) 80% of total marks; coursework the remaining 20% - 1 piece of coursework of 1500 words.
