AUTHORISED AND UNAUTHORISED ABSENCE
Regular attendance is necessary if your child is to achieve her/his full potential. Sometimes, however, absence is unavoidable. The school is required by law to record all absences as either authorised
e.g.Illness, Medical or Dental appointments Family Bereavement, Religious Observance.
or unauthorised
e.g. Shopping, Looking after brothers or sisters, Sleeping in or any absence where an acceptable reason has not been given either by phone or letter from the parent/carer.
WHAT THE SCHOOL WOULD LIKE PARENTS/CARERS TO DO:
1. Phone the school or complete the form above as early as possible on the first day of absence.
2. Send a note explaining the absence when your child returns to school.
