Intro To Enterprise

13th October 2008 the Ealing Education Business Partnership delivered a whole day of Intro To Enterprise to the year 8 students.

The students were first greeted by the Beijing Olympian Ian Wynn, who talked about his inspirational journey at the 2008 Olympics. He captured everyone's attention with his unbelievable experience and sheer determination with his engaging narrative. Ian came home with the bronze medal in the kayak event at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

The students started off the day by designing and developing a container that would protect their egg in the ‘Egg Drop' challenge. They then tried to accumulate at much cash as they could in the ‘Cool Cash' board game.

After those warms up exercises they were then split into teams and their brief was to encourage the local community to get involved in sport and particularly encourage people to be involved in the 2012 Olympic Games. The team had to come up with a company name, slogan, mascot and logo. All of the team members had to decide between themselves who would have which role. The roles ranged from Managing Director to Design Team and Marketing Managers.

All the teams participated in a presentation of their company back to the classroom. The top presentations from each class then went on to present to the rest of the year in the hall. The top presentations received medals for their Gold, Silver and Bronze efforts.
