Acton High School Ski Trip
This academic year, Acton High School has successfully run its first Ski Trip of the 21st Century! Back in April 2011, students were offered the opportunity to go Skiing for a week in Austria in December 2011. The initial level of interest was high and by the summer we had just over 30 students who had placed a deposit and were ready to go!

Former Xbox Game Designer Brings Expertise To School
Mr Ford is inspiring children to put down their controllers and explore how their computer games are actually made by introducing them to the world of programming at Acton High.

Acton High School First Ever Podcast
This week sees the release of the first ever edition of the Acton High School Podcast.
The podcast features contributions from pupils of all ages in a range of subject areas including musical performances and compositions, news, poetry and cookery lessons. Any pupils in the school can get involved in future editions of the podcast to share news and information about their favourite subjects, or to show off their work, whatever it may be.

Acton High Celebrates Christmas With The Community
On Tuesday 6th December, Acton High invited residents from Harleyford Manor and members of the Acton Asian Association, The United Anglo Caribbean Society and The African Ichie Club to celebrate the Christmas season with a traditional Christmas lunch.

World AIDS Day 2011
As part of HIV360’s call to action campaign, a group of 12 year 10 students were involved in creating a video “Call to Action” for World AIDS Day 2011. These calls to action were aimed at government policy makers, and were suggestions from students as to what the government should do next, in order to best support people living with HIV and AIDS.

Black History Month Showcase 2011
On the 24th November 2011 AHS held their Black History Month Showcase.
The BHM Showcase was an educating and entertaining journey that took us from ancient civilizations in Africa to inspirational personalities in America, the rich traditions of the Caribbean and the establishment of black culture in the U.K.

Year 11 Medical Conference Trip
On the 29th October 2011, a group of Year 11 students attended an ATOM (Advanced Topic of Medicine) conference at the University College, London.
The trip was organised by the Work Related Learning Department as an Aim Higher Initiative. The day was jam packed with information on how students interested in medicine could achieve their full potential in order to obtain a medical career in the future.

Year 11 Enter The Saatchi Gallery
A level GCSE Photography students have been entered for the ‘Saatchi Art Prize For Schools’, which is sponsored by Deutsche Bank.
The Sunday Telegraph will be rewarding a first prize of £10,000 to the winning school's art department, with further runner-up prizes.
