MFL Update
Since September, the MFL department has taken part in a number of events for the pupils at Acton High.
In October 2009 a group of 45 pupils went to France, and in January 2010, 24 pupils went to Germany. We also took part in two integrations where Italian and Spanish pupils visited the school to see life in the British School system. So far, this has helped to promote our department and its profile in the School and Community.
During the Autumn term, there will be more student integrations. There are presently two planned excursions, a Barcelona trip has been jointly planned with the Art Department and will be on the 23rd September 2010 for 4 days, and a three-day trip to Brussels is planned for 41 pupils and will be on the 6th October 2010.
We are also hoping to take a group of year 7 students to France for the day in December 2010 to experience a French Christmas market, and see how they celebrate.
There will be a trip to Germany in March/April of 2011, the target group being the present GCSE year 10 and some KS3 pupils. This is still in the planning stages, however, and by the early September we should be sending letters out to parents.
Please find a few pictures below on the student integration that recently took place with the Spanish and Italian pupils.
At the end of each half term there will be a MFL update for you to be aware of what is happening in our Department.
