Family Learning

Introduction

“All parents want their children to do well at school and to succeed. However, many simply don't know where to start. Everything seems to have changed since your own schooldays, and you don't want to confuse your children by using different methods to their teacher. Family Learning can help.” Family Learning UK

What is Family Learning?

Family learning classes are run in many schools in the UK. They give parents and carers the opportunity to find out how things are taught in their own child's school, as well as a chance to share ideas with other parents and develop their own skills.

At Acton High School, we offer free Saturday family learning workshops. The idea of these workshops is to allow your family to learn together through fun and practical workshops. All workshops are free and run on Saturdays from 10am to 1pm. There is no commitment of turning up to all of the sessions; we simply want you to enjoy a fun Saturday with your child through learning new things together.

To reserve a place for each workshop, you simply have to email Ms Lok at jlok@actonhigh.ealing.sch.uk or ask your child to tell Ms Lok. This is our second year of running this programme; we are open to new ideas.

Acton High School believes the importance of supporting our local community which will benefit everyone to become a lifelong learner. In addition, family learning sessions will help to further develop home school relationships as well as engaging parents with their child’s learning; to strengthen our 3 way relationship.
