Barcelona Trip
On September 23rd 2010, 7 Year 9s and a class of Year 11s set off on an exciting journey to the epic city of Barcelona. They awoke early and met at school at 6:30 in the morning, ready for four days of fun and excitement. They took the tube to Heathrow Airport, where unfortunately, their flight was delayed due to a traffic control strike in France. They landed in Spain to be met by an enthusiastic guide and a welcoming driver.

Scrutiny Submission
The Headteacher, Mandy Golding, gave evidence to Ealing Council's Education Scrutiny Panel on 8th September 2010 on the issue of the future of secondary education in the borough.

Generations Together Project
As part of the Generations Together Project Acton High School students have been working with a variety of local organisations to teach older members of the community IT skills. The students have undertaken training and now deliver courses out in the community.

Year 7 Flexiday - Theatre
On 27th September 2010 Year 7s took part in a Performing Arts project based around two Gothic Horror stories, The Red Room by H.G Wells and The Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe.

Osmington Bay Trip
A group of GCSE Geography students made the most of the last of the sunshine and visited Osmington Bay PGL on the 24th – 26th September).

Hammer Gold Medallist
Rafal in 10N has won the English Schools title “Junior Boy’s Hammer Gold Medallist” at the Alexander Stadium and has his eye on the 2020 Olympics!

Saatchi Gallery and the Young Masters Initiative
During this summer, 16 students across London were invited to participate in a sculpture course called The Young Masters Initiative, led by a well respected sculptor Sam Wigan.

Jubilee Gardens Artistic Talent Competition
We are very proud to have been involved in a local community competition this year and we had entered our photography student’s work for the Jubilee Gardens Artist Talent Competition.

GCSE Results
On Tuesday 24th August 2010 staff and students celebrated as Acton High achieved their best ever GCSE results of 51% 5+ A - C including English and Maths and a massive 73% 5+ A - C grades. This closes the gap between results at Acton and the national averages and shows that the improvements at the school are bearing fruit.

Media Awards
On Monday 19th July 2010 Acton High School held their first Media Awards Ceremony, celebrating the achievements of students from all year groups in a number of different areas.
