Parents Association
Your children - our students. We share the same hopes, aspirations and care for them. Therefore, we want to work with you and make our school welcoming to you so that we can work together to support and develop the potential of every child attending Acton High.
Every parent and carer is automatically a member of the Parents Association.
What does the Parents Association do?
- 1. Meets on a half termly basis
- 2. Is available for consultation
- 3. Tells the Leadership team of concerns, makes suggestions, shares the successes
- 4. Links to the Governors of the school, through the Parent Governors

- 6. Organises social and fundraising events
What do we mean by consultation?
- There are some key policies, decisions and issues where we'd like your thoughts and input. We'd like to listen to you, and reflect your opinions in some of the strategic decisions we make in the school. Some examples of where we'd like your opinions are - attendance and punctuality; pupil behaviour; how information about student progress is communicated (tracking, reports, reviews, parents' evenings); subject choices; extra-curricular activities, homework
- Consultation can happen in various ways
- i. Parent forum - when a group of 8 - 12 parents get together as a focus group to discuss a single issues
- ii. On-line consultations through our website
- iii. Through general meetings
